Una presentadora de televisión supo que tenía cáncer gracias al mail de una televidente que se sugirió hacerse revisar por una protuberancia que se le notaba en el cuello.

Victoria Price (28), trabaja como reportera en un canal de noticias de Florida. Tras recibir el mensaje de la televidente, decidió hacerse revisar con un especialista que le confirmó que, efectivamente, padecía cáncer de tiroides.

"Como periodista, estuve a toda velocidad desde que comenzó la pandemia. Cubríamos la historia sanitaria más importante del siglo y había dejado de lado mi propia salud. Estaré eternamente agradecida a la persona que me escribió", dijo en la redes.

"Hola, acabo de ver tu informe en las noticias. Lo que me preocupa es el bulto que veo en tu cuello. Por favor deberías revisar tu tiroides. Yo tuve lo mismo en el cuello. Y resultó ser cáncer de tiroides. Cuidate", le escribieron en un mail.

Ahora la trabajadora será operada para que le extraigan el tumor, la glándula tiroides y los ganglios linfáticos. "Espero que sea mi primera y última intervención", dijo la mujer en sus redes sociales.

COVID created some diagnostic delays but I'll finally be undergoing surgery this Monday to remove the tumor, my thyroid, and a couple of the nearby lymph nodes. Doctor says it's spreading, but not too much, and we're hopeful this will be my first and last procedure. Had I never received that email, I never would have called my doctor. The cancer would have continued to spread. It's a scary and humbling thought. I will forever be thankful to the woman who went out of her way to email me, a total stranger. She had zero obligation to, but she did anyway. Talk about being on your side, huh? The world is a tough place these days. Don't forget to take care of yourself. Take care of each other.
